The mixture of 2,4-D with other herbicides such as glyphosate, sulfosate or paraquatis a common practice all over the country in Brazil. Theobjective is to enhance the efficiency of control of broadleaf weed and to reduce costs in no-till crop systems. However, many problems havebeen registered due to drifts of 2,4-Dover economic crops as cotton, grapes and vegetables. In the State of Parana, about 40 countries have forbidden its use because of damage caused to neighbouring crops. In order to find herbicide alternatives for 2,4-D in risk areas, one experiment was conducted in Londrina, Parana State, Brazil in small plots having weed species such as Commelina benghalensis L., Bidens spp. and Euphorbia heterophylla L.. The treatments consisted of glyphosate alone and mistures with 2,4-D, flumioxazin, sulfentrzone, glufosinate-ammonium or chlorimuron-ethyl. Paraquat plus diuron was also used in tank mix with diquat, 2,4-D, or flumioxazin, besides flumioxazin alone and an untreated cleck. The experiment was conducted in a block desing, with plots of 2m x 5m, with four replications. Aplication was made with a CO2 equipment, using 207 kPa of pressure, nozzles 110.015-BD and spray volume of 160 L ha -1. Weed control evaluations were made at 8 and 15 DAA (days after application) and for C. benghalensis, also at 33 DAA. For this species, at 15 DAA, treatments with paraquat + diuron in mixture with 2,4-D, diquat or with flumioxazin were not statistically different from glyphosate + 2,4-D (chck). At 33 DAA, those and glyphosate + flumioxazin (1.44 + 0.025 kg ha -1) presente the same behaviour. All substitutive treatments were efficient to control the other two weed species.
